Entailing: Haters

Rarely, do we ever dislike someone for a good reason.

We criticize people without knowing them, and make assumptions without knowing anything.

We hear a rumor, and pass it along. But when we hear something said about ourselves, we're hurt and confused why someone would ever say something like that.

We are a world of hypocrites- we wonder why someone would say anything about us, without actually knowing us. Yet, we do the exact same thing.

Maybe it's jealousy. Maybe because of intimidation? Maybe because we think it's funny. Maybe it's because we only know one side of a story.

It's been brought to my attention lately on more than one occasion that making fun of someone for the sheer fun of it makes people think they are funny, witty, and cool. That making some body's personal business into public humiliation is the best part of their days.

Pity.

There will always be haters. Always.

Our generation is living in a sad reality:

We will be called "bitches" and "pussies" because we stand up for our friends, and ourselves.

We'll be called "whiners" and "complainers" for having a normal, human, and emotional reaction to betrayal, belittling, lies, hurt, and heartbreak.

We'll be called "whipped" because we put someone else's happiness above our own; because we are capable of selfless, genuine love with one person instead of endless hooking up.

And we'll be called "sluts" for hooking up with one guy who isn't our boyfriend.

We'll be called "alcoholics" if we have one rough night of partying.

We might not get a call or text back because we might not be "hot enough", despite our personality.

People might change their minds about us not because of what we did, but because of what other people said.

People will constantly be judging us, waiting to pounce on anything they can find to start a rumor or joke about us.

People will say things about us, not knowing the truth. But people just as well might say something, knowing the truth, and saying it anyway.

People may or may not defend us, depending on the status quot.

We'll be hated for things we've done, and things we haven't.

People will say just about anything behind our back, but almost nothing to our face.

We'll have friends who use us for parties, rides, money, etc. but not for real friendship.

But no matter what you do, or how hard you try to give no one a reason to hate/dislike you- there will always be someone who does.

Some days it'll tear us down, make us want to give up, and begin to wonder if what people are saying is true.

But the only person who knows you, is you. And when you go to bed at night, and wake up the next morning, you have your own opinion of yourself.

Let people talk, let them spread lies. Let them assume, and let them criticize.

But also, let the hate, motivate. Let it light a fire of its own, but strictly a fire within yourself to grin, bear it, and keep your head held high.

Because in the end, that's all you can really do.

Entailing: Just Because

Just because roses are red, doesn't mean violets are blue.
Just because you hear it, doesn't mean its true.

Just because a room is dark, doesn't mean it's night.
Just because "they did it first", doesn't mean two wrongs make a right.

Just because you're wealthy, doesn't mean you should brag.
Just because you're tired, doesn't mean you should lag.

Just because you cheated and won, doesn't mean you fought fair.
Just because that couple is gay, doesn't mean you should stare.

Just because there's silence, doesn't mean some thing's wrong.
Just because a girl cries, doesn't mean she's not strong.

Just because you defend yourself and others, doesn't mean you're a prude.
Just because I'm a girl, doesn't mean I can't say dude.

Just because you're smart, doesn't mean you're a geek.
Just because you're curious, doesn't mean you should peek.

Just because they aren't always mean, doesn't mean they're always nice.
Just because you don't think you can do better, doesn't mean you shouldn't think twice.

Just because we party all night, doesn't mean we're "living the life".
Just because you're mad at your friend, doesn't mean talk shit; a stab in the back with a knife.

Just because I try to be open minded, doesn't mean I always am.
Just because you want to be famous, doesn't mean it's all wealth and glam.

Just because you think you're popular, doesn't mean everyone likes you.
Just because we like to hold on to old things, doesn't mean it's bad to get something new.

Just because.
Just because.

Entailing: Strong

Girls and boys are different.

More girls wear their heart on their sleeve than boys. Some guys do, but lets be honest- a girl isn't afraid to tell the world when she's in love, and she sure isn't afraid to let it know when she's heartbroken or wronged.

Not every guy hurts a girl, but every girl has been hurt- which means everything.

When she's been lied to- don't tell her to calm down.
When she's been betrayed- don't tell her to let it go
When she's given you everything, and gotten nothing in return- don't tell her she didn't have to do it.
When she's given you more chances than you deserve- don't abuse it
When she talks to her friends about you because you won't listen to her- don't tell her not to talk to them about things.
When you make fun of her in front of your friends- don't tell her to "take a joke"
When she's crying- don't tell her to stop.
When you think you she won't leave you- think twice.

Girls have a tendency to hold on too long, guys have a tendency to let them go.

Just because a girl has put up with a lot, doesn't mean she'll keep doing it.

When a girl wants to tell you she's had enough and is done- she wants you to give her a reason to stay. But she's scared; scared you won't stop her, scared you'll let her walk away. So she stays.

And then that day comes.

The day where she realizes, she doesn't care whether or not you stop her. The day when she finally believes, herself, what everyone else has been telling her, "You deserve better."

And she stands up; a little stronger, a little prouder.

And all you see, is the fading image of her walking away.

Maybe you care, and maybe you don't.

But one things for sure- with her head held high, she never looks back.

Once someone realizes what they had, the other person is walking away, leaving a note behind saying "You shouldn't have had to realize it, you should've known all along."
